Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
Idle Voyager is a game that rewards you for leaving your phone alone. We collect only what the game needs to save your progress. We don't sell your data, we don't currently show ads, and we don't track you across other apps and websites.
This policy covers the Idle Voyager apps for Android and iOS and the game at idlevoyager.com (together, "Idle Voyager"). Idle Voyager is run by AstroManiac Labs LLC ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email support@idlevoyager.com.
What we collect
Your account
- An account ID. Every player gets a random ID so we can save progress. Guests get one too.
- Email address and name, if you sign in with Google. Google shares your email address, your name and your profile picture link with us. We use the email to sign you in, and the name only to suggest an astronaut name. Guests don't give us an email address.
- A guest code login, if you create one. A guest code works like a password. We store it securely (hashed), never in readable form.
Your game
- Your astronaut's name, suit colors and ship and suit upgrades.
- Your crystals, hyperdrive charge, the planets you've visited and the distance you've traveled.
- Your mining sessions: when each one started and ended, and what it earned.
- Your screen time saved: each stretch of 10 seconds or more when the game was open and you didn't touch your phone, with when it started and ended and how long it lasted. We use it to show you how much time you've saved today, this month and in total.
- The goals you pick from our list (for example "Focus on a task" or "Reduce screen time"), if you choose any.
- Which tutorials you've already seen.
How you use the game
- When you open and close the game, whether you're on Android, iOS or the website, and the app version. We use this to keep mining sessions accurate and to fix problems.
- When you pick your phone back up during mining: how long it sat untouched before that, how long you used it, what you did next (put it down again, left the app, or opened another screen), your local hour of the day, and how many times you tapped and whether those taps were near the bottom of the screen. We record only these counts and times, never what you do in other apps.
- On the website only: anonymous, aggregated page-visit statistics from Vercel Web Analytics (for example, how many people visited and from which country). Vercel Web Analytics doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you. The Android and iOS apps don't use it.
Information that stays on your device
The game remembers your graphics quality and language setting on your device. Your sign-in session is also stored on your device so you stay signed in. None of this is sent to us separately.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, advertising ID, or payment details. Idle Voyager currently has no ads and no real-money purchases. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
How we use it
- To run the game: save your progress, award crystals for the time you spend away from your phone, and let you continue on another device.
- To keep the game fair and working: prevent cheating and abuse, and find and fix bugs.
- To improve Idle Voyager: understand, in aggregate, how the game is played, including how often and when players check the game during mining. We use this to design the game and to decide whether, when and where a small ad could be shown in the future without getting in the way.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Who handles it for us
We use a few service providers to run Idle Voyager. They process data only on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores accounts and game progress (servers in the United States) |
| Vercel | Hosts the website and provides its anonymous visit statistics |
| Signs you in, if you choose "Continue with Google" | |
| Apple and Google app stores | Distribute the apps. Their own privacy policies cover what they collect when you download. |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business (in which case this policy keeps applying to your data).
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game progress for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete all of it right away. Copies in our providers' backups are removed as those backups expire, normally within 30 days.
Guest accounts that never got a guest code or a Google sign-in can't be recovered once you lose access to them. We may delete such accounts after a long period without any activity.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the game: open the menu by tapping your astronaut's name at the top of the screen, then choose Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all game progress. If you can't get into the game, see how to request deletion by email.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we have about you and give you a copy,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- stop processing it.
Email support@idlevoyager.com from the email address on your account, or include your guest code so we can find your account. We'll answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined in California law.
Children
Idle Voyager isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each player can read and change only their own data, and game rewards are calculated on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
International players
We're based in the United States and our servers are in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we'll tell you in the game before it takes effect.
